GenH2’s continued support of STEM programs to expand educators’ and students’ understanding of the clean energy future, specifically in liquid hydrogen, attended the STEM Carib 2023 conference where Dr. Martha Williams, GenH2’s Senior Technology Advisor was a Keynote Speaker. Dr. Williams, a Caymanian by birth, led off the first morning of the conference titled “Game Changer, Time to Level Up” held at the University College of the Cayman Islands with a large group of attendees that included the University president, representative from the Ministry of Education, University professors, teachers, university students, elementary, middle, and high school students, along with other representatives in the STEM field and the Caribbean.

Martha shared her journey in the career field of STEM and innovation, to a very responsive and excited audience with many questions about her previous NASA career (NASA Inventors Hall of Fame Inductee) and her current GenH2 career with liquid hydrogen as an energy carrier for the future. Break-out sessions included ones on Sustainability, Climate Change, liquid nitrogen, artificial intelligence, robotics, and campus tours. A notable highlight of the conference was the showcasing of Women in STEM and speakers, with the other two keynote speakers for day 2 and 3, also women, leading in Global Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence.

Takeaways from the conference are: (1) clean energy and sustainability are also important on the international stage (2) educators and students are interested in understanding or being more educated about liquid hydrogen and its uses (3) innovation and invention are on the rise and (4) more students than ever are pursuing science and engineering careers.

For GenH2, our clean energy goal relies on the worldwide movement toward change. This needed change can only happen through education, at all levels, and an understanding of a better tomorrow with clean renewable energy. Our innovative hydrogen technology combined with our passion to support and participate in hydrogen educational programs is what continues to push hydrogen to the forefront. We look forward to next year’s STEM Carib conference when it will become even more clear that the Hydrogen Age is now.
